Where's the party?
We need a party!
It's so cold I'm sure we should all be / movin'.
The streetlights / are out / to save energy.
Everybody's job shut down / to save natural gas.
We are unemployed
And the agencies are out of money;
But on ABC / it's like / winter never happened
Fortunately my TV / works fine.
This fat generation /
Could stand a few days with no food,
Could stand a few weekends / with no marijuana —
No dope / no dope / no dope.
My atrophied muscles / look fine on prime time.
I watch my doubles / as cops / with great big tits
Move around in Hollywood,
Sunny southern Cal / on location.
Sure wish I could go there
'Cause here the wind comes in the broken windows;
We stay close together on the floor
Watchin' ABC / watchin' our favorite shows;
The gray glow from the monitor
It plays on our faces.
This fat generation /
Could stand a few days with no food,
Could stand a few weekends / with no marijuana —
No dope / no dope / no dope.
We wish it was a party / where we dance.
Playin' Patti Smith records, Rolling Stone records;
They are fabulous / they are fabulous,
And the women / wow fabulous!
We roll up close together / under blankets on the floor,
And outside in the bitter cold
Dead stars are out there / just like me,
Looking for a party and a workin' TV
